The Less Quick Version:
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Harassment in any form will not be tolerated from anyone at Hacktivision events, including hackathons, social events, and any social/online media. This policy applies to all participants, sponsors, partners, and staff members.
Harassment includes: offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, or religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, photography or audio/video recording against reasonable consent, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention, language, and/or imagery. Participants, sponsor/partner representatives, and staff members should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, use sexualized images/activities/material, or create a sexualized environment in any other way.
Any participants, sponsors, partners, and/or staff members asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If You Experience or Witness Harassment
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of Hacktivision immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, Hacktivision staff may take any action they deem appropriate. This includes but is not limited to: issuing a warning to the offender, expelling the offender from the event with no refund, or reporting the offender’s behavior to local law enforcement.
Hactkvision takes the security of its participants seriously, and values their attendance. Staff will be happy to help participants contact local security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist participants to feel safe for the entirety of the event.
Photography/Videography Policy
Hacktivision hires photographers and videographers for our events, and all participants sign consent forms for such photographs and videos to be used for marketing purposes. If you are uncomfortable having your photograph taken and/or shared, please do not hesitate to let Hacktivision staff know.
Photography and videography by participants is encouraged, but only at the consent of those being photographed/filmed. If posting or sharing photos on social media, please ask for consent from all photographed/filmed subjects. If other participants object to being photographed and/or filmed, please comply with their request. Taking photos in bathrooms, sleeping quarters, and anywhere else one would expect privacy is inappropriate and will not be tolerated.
If participants are asked to stop photographing or filming, they are expected to comply immediately. Failure to do so constitutes harassment and will not be tolerated.
